About the memorial: Inside the church is a framed, wooden memorial featuring a picture, showing a uniformed soldier dying and touching the feet of a crucified Christ, and below that a roll of honour, the names carved into a wooden background, in which gilt paint has been inserted. “This Parish”, means Great Carlton, for this is the original Roll of Honour for the Parish Church of Great Carlton.
